Carotenoids and cruciferous vegetables are examples of foods that may protect against breast cancer.


How to decrease risk of breast cancer through diet and exercise:


High vegetable consumption (ER negative breast cancer)


High intake of carotenoids (found in sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, yellow squash, cantaloupe, apricots, spinach, kale, mango, red peppers, tomatoes)


Cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, bok choy)
